a decade's worth

There's a great thread over on tFS right now where members share their favorite editorials of the decade. Of what's been listed so far, there are plenty I've never seen and more I'd forgotten about. Below, a few selects from the best of the best I'd like to note and remember.

heavy eyelids.

So tired. With a new job, a new season, excitement & uncertainty... at the end of the day I sink into a puddle of blankets and sleepiness. But I miss my little blog! Until the next day off, I give you some random things I love lately.

daul + russh

photos via tFS and the next blog

I love Daul Kim and judging by what's surfaced so far, it looks like her presence (as cover girl!) in the November/December Russh is going to make for a pretty unbelievable issue. There's something about this editorial that gives me chills. I guess I'm all Lula'd out for now because it feels wonderful to find an editorial that is gorgeous without being too... pretty.

ahead of its time

I love combing through the vintage magazine archives on The Fashion Spot. They seem to be steadily growing, thanks to the people who take the time to scan their collections. Sometimes it just feels like magazines produced today are all just feeding us the same thing over and over. It's nice to escape to decades past and see how editorials used to be done. This one, shot by Richard Dormer in a 1964 British Harper's Bazaar, amazes me with how fresh and creative it feels, despite being done 45 years ago.

Bloodlust

Most people who know me well are aware of the fact that I'm a pretty serious True Blood fan. The show is getting rather convoluted in the second season but it was the hot vampire lovin' that originally drew me in. Seriously, HBO has never created a sexier show.

I'm also somewhat entranced by Anna Paquin's face. She's just such a unique, unconventional beauty. Though I swore off Nylon long ago, the fact that she graces the cover of their September issue tempts me to pick up a copy.

Lookin' good, lady.

In other news, is anyone equally as unexcited for Fashion Week as I am? I'm sure I'll eat my words in a couple of weeks.
