There are more giveaways on the horizon, believe me, things are in the works. Also, I've been feeling a bit shy/lazy regarding outfit posting lately but I promise I'll be back in action AYYY-SAP.

MJ

Last night every place in the city was playing his tunes. I'd forgotten how infectious this song was.

MJ forever!

The September Issue

The HD trailer for the Anna Wintour Documentary, The September Issue, has leaked. It looks juicy. I'm even excited enough that I'm tempted to renew my Vogue subscription.

The film will open in New York on August 28th and expand in the New York area on September 4th. The following week, it will open in the top 15 markets on September 11th. (via IndieWire)

So, who wants to go to the movies? I'll bring Bandit wine boxes and and Ring Pops for a touch of glamour.

Flea Market Finds

I found this kind of precious, kind of perfect vintage bra at the Fort Greene Flea Market the other weekend. I fell in love with several vintage items while there, but with $10 in my wallet, my options were limited. I circled the booth where this bra was hanging several times, before haggling the vendor down to $8. I was quite pleased with myself.

So damn cute. It makes me feel like I should be hanging out with these ladies, sipping Mojitos and workin' on my tan.

Oh and...New York? Hi. Yeah. Can you please stop pouring ran so I can live out all of my beachy dreams while I'm still jobless?

W July 2009

So I just got my copy of the new W in the mail. There's some ominous photo of Bruce Willis on the cover with his new wife and I wasn't sure exactly what to expect, but felt my stomach wrench slightly. The accompanying editorial, by Steven Klein, is pretty much THE most fucked up thing I've seen in W for a long time. Their past couple issues were pretty lackluster so maybe they were going for shock value. But really? REALLY Steven Klein? Do you think this is Vogue Paris or something? What the what?

I mean maybe if it were anyone else?

Since when is Resort this consistently good?

Seriously? This season has been spot-on. And now Pheobe Philo for Celiné! In her (first) Resort 2010 collection for the label, she's not messing around. I love when menswear inspired looks manage to be so classically feminine that you melt just looking at them. Such fine tailoring would be wasted on a man.

I <3 With Hearts in My Eyes

Much thanks to Jen of Gnarlitude for featuring the gorgeous line of made-to-order clothing, With Hearts in My Eyes, now available at Bonadrag. I am in lovvveeee.

The pieces remind me of one of my favorite movies ever, the hilarious I Love You, Alice B. Toklas. Leigh Taylor-Young's costumes in the film embody every sort of hippie dippy fantasy you've ever had. It's definitely one of my top 5 favorite films, I think I've seen it 30 times in the last 7 or 8 years. Rent it on a lonely Friday night, you won't be disappointed.

Now I must go dream up ways to make moolah so I can afford those lace pants.

Thursday?

The days are all blending together and I've possibly become the laziest person alive. This in-between season is tricky. A little cold, a little rainy, a little sweaty. Looking at the new Lover collection, I'm almost longing for Fall again. Never satisfied. How do you all fill your days?

On to the clothes...I found this dress a month or two back, it's made from the softest material imaginable. Unfortunately it turns into a wrinkly mess the moment I sit down, but I suppose that's a small price to pay for feeling like you're brushing against light velvety fingers. And it just so happens that the HH pumps match perfectly. I didn't want to wear them for two consecutive outfit posts, but no one can deny that the dress and shoes were made for each other. Matchy-matchy? Psht, I do what I want.

I've included a rainbow for good measure. It's insane to think about how Niagara Falls is man-made. What a strange place.

Vena Cava Resort 2010

photos via style.com

So I'm aware that the only things I ever post about on this blog are Vena Cava and Lara Stone. But in my eyes, neither can do any wrong. So if you're not a fan of either, too bad. Every Vena Cava collection seems to be made for the girl who enjoys femininity but refuses to dress up like a small child. There are never any Cindy Brady-like smock dresses or giant bows (I love you A.P.C. but sometimes it's a bit much!). Vena Cava rocks the simple cuts, bold patterns, and just enough sexiness to make you feel like a badass. The 2010 Resort collection embraces a tiny waist and dirty old sneakers. Seriously, how hot is that? I can smell the plastic that is my Barney's credit card burning up already.
