ahead of its time

I love combing through the vintage magazine archives on The Fashion Spot. They seem to be steadily growing, thanks to the people who take the time to scan their collections. Sometimes it just feels like magazines produced today are all just feeding us the same thing over and over. It's nice to escape to decades past and see how editorials used to be done. This one, shot by Richard Dormer in a 1964 British Harper's Bazaar, amazes me with how fresh and creative it feels, despite being done 45 years ago.

Absolutely to die for. Especially the "Paris nights" and "Lanvin/smoky sheer" garments- completely timeless. The alley stairs image is something straight out of a modern Prada ad!
