vena cava s/s 11

Some choice looks from Vena Cava S/S 11. These girls truly never disappoint. Though I've come to know and love them through the prints they create, the focus this time around seems to be on movement. Everything is just begging to be worn. And they're making shoes now! It just keeps getting better.

Long time no see!

dress - Vena Cava, hat - H&M, tights - Uniqlo, shoes - vintage

Hello there! It's been awhile, a long while, since I've posted an outfit. I needed an excuse to proclaim my love for this dress I've probably worn six times in three weeks, as well as show off my Chanel Jade nail polish. Spending this rainy Saturday relaxing and reading my new copy of Lula. What are you up to?

Vena Cava! NYFW! It's all happening! Ahh!

Just a quick one before I sleep. Vena Cava's collection surprised me and subsequently stole my heart with these three dresses.

Swoon! I also picked up one of their limited-edition-from-one-of-ten-archival-prints dresses at their Fashion's Night Out event tonight. It properly satiated my appetite for the designers I simply adore. Went to a couple other events for FNO, got tipsy on wine, and now, well, it's time to sleep as the alarm goes off at 7:30am and NYFW continues.

AHHHHH!

So this is going to be quick because I'm stealing some shaky weak wi-fi signal. I have not been posting because Time Warner Cable is THE WORST COMPANY IN THE WORLD and I've been without internet for a week now. It's indefinite when it'll be repaired, also. AWESOME. I AM IN WITHDRAWAL. THIS IS HORRIBLE. I have internet on my phone but can't really do much blogging from there, though I may attempt it.

For now, I'd like to promise you a new giveaway in the next couple of days, it's been delayed a week due to the aforementioned technical issues.

In the meantime, let's admire the nice little tour of Lisa Mayock's (of Vena Cava!) apartment that Refinery29 posted...

She lives in my neighborhood! And my apartment does not look like this. One day...

Vena Cava Resort 2010

photos via style.com

So I'm aware that the only things I ever post about on this blog are Vena Cava and Lara Stone. But in my eyes, neither can do any wrong. So if you're not a fan of either, too bad. Every Vena Cava collection seems to be made for the girl who enjoys femininity but refuses to dress up like a small child. There are never any Cindy Brady-like smock dresses or giant bows (I love you A.P.C. but sometimes it's a bit much!). Vena Cava rocks the simple cuts, bold patterns, and just enough sexiness to make you feel like a badass. The 2010 Resort collection embraces a tiny waist and dirty old sneakers. Seriously, how hot is that? I can smell the plastic that is my Barney's credit card burning up already.

Vena Cava x Gap!

I'm so pumped for the upcoming Vena Cava and Alexander Wang x Gap collections. The pieces were revealed on Racked two weeks ago, and now Modelinia reports the items will be priced from $39.50 to $88. Nice! For some reason I imagined the price points would be higher. I hope to snag one (or both) of the printed Vena Cava dresses and perhaps the Alexander Wang khaki moto jacket. This collab is pretty much a dream come true (khaki & all), as Lisa Mayock and Sophie Buhai are my favorite younger designers. And Alex, you're not too shabby either.

Oh and! Just a reminder--you have ONE MORE DAY to enter the Modepass contest and have a chance to win $100! Last I checked there were about 10 entries so seriously, your chances of winning are awesome. Instructions on how to enter are here. Do it up!

Playing Favorites

top - Vena Cava, jeans - Cheap Monday, shoes - vintage YSL

I wore all of my favorite things today. The Vena Cava top I'll never grow tired of, black jeans that are the perfect length, my little vintage YSL oh-so French shoes. It's Friday, I'm very tired, and dressing needed to be easy. Of course this plan has gone out the window now since I just agreed to a date and have no clue what to wear...currently sitting in my PJs. Damn.

Vena Cava A/W 09: Crystalarium

This was and will remain, without a doubt, the highlight of NYFW for me. As far as young designers go, Lisa Mayock and Sophie Buhai are my favorites. It's impossible not to fall in love with every collection they put out. The presentation of their A/W 09 collection proved to be the best yet. Fangirl that I am, I obsessively photographed every look. I CANNOT WAIT TO OWN ANY OF THESE PIECES. Nearly brings me to tears it's all so damn gorgeous.

*weeps*

The drinks at the presentation were made with absinthe. One cocktail on an empty stomach in a room full of this glory made me feel like I was in an alternate universe. One which I wouldn't mind permanently residing in.

Sniffle

My cold has kept me from accomplishing anything for days. I've not wanted to get dressed let alone get in front of a camera. It seems that everyone is a bit sick at the moment. Whiskey and soup have been keeping me company. Sorry I couldn't get my face completely turned around (a la Chucky) for this shot.

...

I'm actually a bit ashamed to admit I'm falling for the tie-dye trend, specifically with denim. I'm having a hard time imagining myself rocking it, but I know it's only a matter of time before I'm out shopping and wind up buying some crazy tie-dyed piece, much to the chagrin of my friends.
