knock your socks off

I think my life would considerably improve just by wearing these "Knock Your Socks Off Heels" from Modcloth. They remind me of elementary school art projects where some Elmer's glue and rainbow glitter could go a long way. They probably leave a bonus trail of fairy dust wherever you go and hey, a little added whimsy in the day never hurt anyone.

christmas comes early

Well, I did it. I bought myself the Chloé wedges as an early Christmas/birthday present. Luckily Saks decided to put them on sale, my patience paid off. And they are everything I dreamed of. I'm glad I went with the wedges too, I think they'll get a ton of wear. I also like that they'll encourage me to wear something other than black black black.

And I was feeling so festive today that I went and bought a little Christmas tree, some trimmings, and whiskey + egg nog. Mmmm. I lot of people hate egg nog but I think it's pretty tasty with a bit of Jameson poured in it. Even better while sitting next to my lovely little tree.

obsessed

A comprehensive post chronicling my F/W 09 Chloé bootie obession...

Rachel Bilson in the Catlyn short boots

Blake Lively in the Catlyn ankle boots

Alix in the Ashton low boots

Obsessed.

This girl on StyleLikeU said she ate Cup 'O Noodles for a couple of weeks after buying a pair of Chloé shoes...

....I'm considering this. Priorities!

Which is your favorite? Would you make cuts in your food/living budget to afford something you can't afford, but love so much you could cry?

New favorite things

dress - Lewis, tights - Nine West, boots - Rachel Comey Bookmark boots

Look at me making a better effort to do outfit posts! I've got new things to show off which is the best excuse to do one of these posts. The lovely Alison Lewis gave me this Lewis dress, from her FW09 collection. I love the neckline and collar, just cut beautifully. And speaking of beautiful, my boot collection just got a new addition in the form of these Rachel Comey boots. It was far too tempting with them being sold in my neighborhood. I swear, steer clear of strolling around the Bedford Ave. area because it is dangerous. So many temptations. I told myself that I could have them since my old favorite boots broke. Totally worth eating ramen for awhile. Ahh, my logic.

McQueen.

McQueen SS10 knocked the wind out of my sails. I am quite sure I've never seen anything like this before. I've gone through the show a few times today and keep coming back to the details. The prints, textures, SHOES, hair, makeup, nails....there are no words, really. If someone asked me who I'd like to have lunch with, dead or alive, it'd be this man.

Hello, lovers

Oh mahhhhh gaaaaaaad...in the words of Rachel Zoe, I die I die I die. Beloved Martin Margiela degrade boots, I vow to keep you forever. I will never take you to a bar and let beer get spilled on you. I've dreamt many dreams of you and here you are. Now, what the hell am I gonna wear you with?

Fuck yeah!

Behold the Fall 09 Pierre Hardy x Gap gems, for sale in September...

How will I ever choose?!

I'm hoping they're comfy, babies look HIGH.

Remember how awesome they looked on the models? I was definitely oohing and ahhing when the looks were released last Fashion Week. Kind of glad now I didn't purchase anything from the Alexander Wang and Vena Cava x Gap collections, I want to save my pretty pennies for ALL OF THESE. I hope the price points aren't excruciating though. I'm guessing they'll range from $100-200.

Officially excited for fall.

Broke shopping

I realized I don't really have many basic flat sandals to run around in this summer and have become jealous of all the girls walking around in them. My tan Saltwaters are nice & all but they don't go with many things I want to wear, which end up not getting worn because I have no shoes. How do I have no shoes?! There are probably 30 pairs in my room, and yet most of them don't work without tights. Uh, dilemma. I am broke. Brokety broke broke. It's no fun.

So I went sniffing around online...

Urban Outfitters has a surprisingly extensive selection of $20 sale sandals. I then searched for coupon codes and found that "25OFFSALE" works on all sale items. $15 sandals!

So I've ordered both of these, now I'll have my little basic, cute, flat sandals. New, made of suede/leather, and significantly marked down. I'm quite pleased with myself at the moment.

Time to paint my toes.

Blah blah blah

So I had a pretty festive holiday weekend and it's left me exhausssssted. Wow. Boozy, grilled, sparkling goodness. I think it's safe to say that summer has FINALLY arrived. I know my posting has been really sporadic lately (I blame 2 straight months of rain...so bad for motivation!), but I'm mapping out a pretty productive week. There will be another giveaway! Outfit posts! What else? Hmm we will see.

Also, I really want these sparkly shoes from Anthropologie:

They seem perfect for skipping around.

Sad Story

Let me tell you a sad story. I indulged and bought these insane sandals awhile back, admired them, fondled them, put them on my shoe rack, waited for warm months to come, and forgot about them. When I picked them up today they were covered in dust. I immediately dusted them off and strapped them to my feet. I still love you, crazy ass shoes.

Ripped jeans, I also love you. You make me feel like a Swede but I know my mother would disapprove of you.

70's Summer

I've been hunting for the perfect little pair of 70's wedge sandals for some time now. Of course I've had no success, as I tend to be rather unlucky when it comes to finding things right when I want them. Etsy is somewhat of a goldmine for decently priced vintage shoes, so why are none in my size?! Some one should buy the following pairs and look cute as hell this summer.

Unusual perfection, from Allen Company, Inc., size 7.5

Pretty Italian babies, from Haute Country Vintage, size 7

Exactly what I'm looking for, from myartsdesire, size 7-7.5

Vintage Fendi! from Shotgun Vintage, size 6

Sighhhhh, from cookiesandcreme, size 7.5-8

If you'll excuse me, I need to commence binding my feet. Being a size 9 is clearly getting me nowhere in life.

R and R

Not much to talk about today, just some photos. Enjoying a quiet day inside listening to records. I really wish I had more time to do outfit posts, it's nice when I get the chance to do them without any haste. Oh...what color should I paint my bedroom walls? Their current state makes for nice little melancholy photos but I'm not down with actually living like this for much longer.

Kickin' it

Oh hi! Here I am again. I finally ordered the Guess Maeve boots after they were marked way down. They make me feel like some kind of combat stripper video game character. Kind of perfect. I'm excited to wear them them with something short and black but I thought their first trip around the block needed to be paired with a little sweetness.

I put together this little spring wishlist today. I've already thought of more things to add, but these all seem like must-haves. I think I'll probably be lazy in the warmer months and be all about the basics.

From left to right: Current/Elliott boyfriend jeans in Loved Destroyed, T by Alexander Wang classic tee in black, T by Alexander Wang classic short-sleeved dress in gray, classic Ray-ban wayfarers, Canon Xsi digital camera, Zara black suede sandals, and various YSL makeup. Hop to it, IRS. Make me a happy girl.

These are going to be hard to resist.

Pierre Hardy's back at Gap!
