crazy hot

Happy 4th! It's unfathomably hot outside and many cold beers are in order. This is what I'm wearing today... breezy things.

beeeeeeeach pleaseeeee

beachyFashion Trends & Styles - Polyvore

It is so sticky and hot out today, I'd give anything to go to the beach. At least I'm sitting in a nicely air conditioned office but it's really not the same. My apartment also overlooks a neighbor's pool, which I cannot swim in. So cruel. I'm making it my new goal to acquire this Sessun bikini from Steven Alan and head to the beach next weekend.

more madewell

I think Madewell has become the go-to store for my summer wardrobe. Everything is comfortable, a bit loose, and easy to throw on. Their sale section has several things that are still full price online which is pretty amazing . I had to stop myself the other day from buying every single item I tried on. Though I still brought home the top and shorts in this photo, as well as a tank and pair of jeans. For my next visit, got my eye on the Panama hat, Mara Hoffman bikinis, and trouser jeans. Can't stop won't stop.

slow & steady

I've been terrible at following music for the last year or so, but intense heat somehow sparks a desire to find the songs that will allow you to melt into your chair, drink in hand, and close your eyes. If I had a car and some long empty roads to drive through, I'd want the same kind of blissed-out, mildly psychedelic tunes to listen to.

So far, these are the front-runners:

A mojito would be great right now.

insta-summer

I think I kind of forgot how utterly overwhelming summer is in New York. There's not much you can do but accept the sweaty mess and do everything possible to enjoy it. Some little things keeping me happy this week: new Dores necklace, calgel hombre nails, a few potted herbs out the window, and my light up globe which I haven't figured out how to hang up yet.
